Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior API Technical Writer with strong expertise in documenting both existing and newly developed APIs. The ideal candidate will play a key role in enhancing developer-facing documentation while supporting SOC 2 compliance initiatives. This position requires close collaboration with Engineering, Product, and Security teams, with partial overlap required with US time zones (EST and PST).

Key Responsibilities:

• Create, update, and maintain clear, structured, and accurate API documentation for internal and external developers

• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Security teams to document new APIs, enhancements, and system changes

• Review and refine existing API documentation to improve clarity, consistency, and usability

• Support SOC 2 implementation by documenting processes, technical workflows, and security controls

• Ensure documentation aligns with compliance and audit requirements

• Work effectively with distributed global teams, ensuring availability during US timezone overlap

Required Skills:

• 9–12 years of experience in technical documentation, with strong focus on API documentation

• Proven experience documenting REST APIs including endpoints, request/response schemas, authentication methods, and error handling

• Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and well-structured documentation

• Experience working closely with Engineering and Security teams

• Familiarity with compliance-driven documentation processes (SOC 2 knowledge preferred)

Preferred (Bonus) Skills:

• Experience with API documentation tools such as Swagger, OpenAPI, Postman, or similar platforms

• Prior experience supporting SOC 2 or other compliance initiatives

• Comfortable working across multiple time zones with distributed teams

Note:

• Strong API documentation experience is mandatory

• US timezone overlap is required
